Another strong performance for Lincoln XC

Thursday, September 26 the Lincoln Middle School cross country team made a leisurely jaunt to Oak Hill School for the King of the Hill race.  The 3,000-meter course and the competition proved to be one of the toughest tests of the entire season.

Carter Bengston was the lone top ten finisher in the boys event comprising 215 runners.  With 204 entrants, Gracee Dizick-Kaleese was the highest placer in the girls event.  When all of the team scores were tallied, the boys ended the day fifth while the girls did one spot better, posting a fourth-place finish.

The LMS cross country teams return to the Stayton Middle School Nature Trails on Thursday, October 3 for the Regis/Stayton Invitational.  The team ran at the same venue on September 18.  The Girls get started at 3:30 p.m. while the Boys take off at 3:55.

But, the week isn’t over in Stayton for the runners.  Saturday, October 5 will have the Tigers travel to the Oregon Coast for the Woahink Lake XC Invitational at Jessie M. Honeyman State Park in Florence.  The girls start the whole party at 10:00 a.m. followed by the boys at 10:30.
