Back to School Brigade

Sept. 8, 2022 — Students from all over the area prepared for the 2022-23 school year with back-to-school pictures. On Tuesday, South Lane School District welcomed these students to elementary, middle and high school, with more students returning to campus Wednesday.

Additionally, the staff at Child’s Way Charter School welcomed students back this week.

“I think we would all agree that our favorite part is working with the students and helping them become healthy, growing individuals in whatever bent they are inclined toward, whether music, cooking, writing, computers, or any other area,” one staff member said. “We look forward to touching each of our students' lives in a very individual way this year!”

For Principal Michael Kerns, “My favorite part of being a school leader is seeing how much leadership I can get out of my staff of Child's Way Schools. We have a staff of 18 working with 55 students and seeing how much they can come up with ideas on their own of how to encourage and build up every student here is amazing. I am looking forward to seeing how many relationships will be built by this staff and how much creativity will come out of these students with the freedom and encouragement that they will be getting here. It is going to be a great year!”
