Barbara Dean (Pugmire) Cavanaugh passed away on February 16, 2023.

Barbara Dean (Pugmire) Cavanaugh was born in the Salt Lake City, Utah area on August 6, 1934 to Earl and Pauline Pugmire. She died February 16, 2023 in Eugene Oregon of lung cancer. Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Edward Cavanaugh, her parents, Earl and Pauline Pugmire and her brother Jerry Pugmire.

Barbara was a full time homemaker most of her life, busy helping with her kid's activities such as Cub Scouts, Blue Birds, and Girls Scouts.

Barbara is survived by her sister Paulette Kosak of Spokane, Washington as well as her four children, Kathryn Ann Cavanaugh of Bryan, Ohio, David James Cavanaugh (Sandi) of Santa Rosa California, Gary Dean Cavanaugh of Bakersfield, California and Carrie Michele (Cavanaugh) Campbell (Jon) of Junction City, Oregon. Barbara is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Barbara enjoyed hosting backyard barbeque parties for cherished friends and family as well as attending the senior center of Cottage Grove for weekly bingo, sewing and get togethers. Her hobbies were sewing camping, doll making, and Barbara was an excellent cook. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 06, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel. Arrangements in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
