Barbara Jean Lowe McIntyre

Barbara Jean Lowe McIntyre, 87, passed on to her heavenly home on December 20, 2018. 

Barbara was born in Cottage Grove, Oregon on December 19, 1931. She graduated from Cottage Grove High School, attended Northwest Christian College, and gained a degree in Music Education from the University of Oregon.  Barbara was an educator at heart and loved her music students.  She taught piano for many decades in her home and designed and implemented music education programs at several Christian Schools. She taught her daughters to play the piano and develop a love for music.  Barbara was also immersed in the Christian community and played the organ and piano for church worship services.

Barbara married Clarence M. Lowe Jr. in 1950 and together they raised their family in Cottage Grove.    Barbara and Clarence were business owners.  They owned the Grove Maid Dairy and they built, owned, and operated the A&W Drive-In, a popular dining and teen cruising destination on West Main. 

After Clarence passed away in 1998, Barbara married Scott McIntyre. Barbara and Scott moved from Cottage Grove to the Portland, Oregon area to be closer to family.

Barbara is survived by her daughters Melinda Bangle and Cynthia Hudson, step-son Mark McIntyre, 5 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren and one Great-Great-Grandchild.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Grace Gleason; husbands Clarence M. Lowe Jr. and Scott G. McIntyre; brother Robert Gleason; and sister Bonnie Erickson.

Barbara was laid to rest on December 28that the Fir Grove Cemetery in Cottage Grove.
