On Sunday, March 12, Author Arlene Stein was the guest speaker for a book signing of The Stranger Next Door.  Winner of the Ruth Benedict prize, the volume presents a study of a rural Oregon town (modeled after Cottage Grove) and its encounters with prejudice and paranoia. The event was held at Rural Organizing Project and hosted by them and The Blackberry Pie Society.
