June 23 - The Cottage Grove Historical Society Mural Committee has kicked off their efforts to bring The Goose back to Cottage Grove in the form of a Mural. They have been working on this idea for over a year and it is all coming together.

The Bohemia Foundation has given their consent to have the mural on a wall of a restroom facility due to be built on the north end of the park, in the park expansion that will start later this summer.

The Mural Committee is very excited to have The Goose in the park as that is where it was housed during the heyday of the excursion that ran from the Village Green Depot to the old Bohemia Mill site at Culp Creek and back.

The Committee will be in front of the Opal Center during Art Walk on Friday, June 30th. Some items that have been ordered, and will hopefully be available by the event, are hats, t-shirts and framed poster replicas of The Goose!

The proceeds from the sales will go to the Mural Fund. Stop by the table during next Friday's Art Walk and tell us your memories the train and see some memorabilia from this popular piece of Cottage Grove history! Donations can also be made directly at: https://cghistory.org
