The Cottage Grove Emergency Preparedness Fair took place on August 6 at Coiner Park.

The free event was hosted by the City of Cottage Grove in partnership with local churches and South Valley Athletics.

Party in the Park handed out free food as well as backpacks filled with school supplies while South Valley Athletics will be organizing a basketball tournament.

Visitors learned how to respond and prepare for emergencies of any kind such as an earthquake, flood, power outage, or any other type of disaster. A host of emergency vehicles were also on display, including a fire truck, ambulance, armored vehicle, and marine patrol boat.
