CG hospital joins other PeaceHealth facilities in temperature screenings for employees, visitors

With the number of COVID-19 cases rising in Oregon, PeaceHealth is conducting temperature screenings for all patients, visitors and caregivers as they enter PeaceHealth facilities in Oregon.

The screenings took effect at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 23, at Cottage Grove Community Medical Center, PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Medical Center in Florence and RiverBend Annex in Springfield. The screenings were implemented on Friday, March 20, at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield and Sacred Heart Medical Center, University District, in Eugene and all PeaceHealth Medical Group clinics in Oregon.

The screenings will remain in place until COVID-19 is no longer a public health threat. 

Non-contact thermometers are used at all entry points to PeaceHealth facilities. Any individual with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or above is not allowed to enter and is provided the appropriate instructions on seeking care.

Individuals with fever or respiratory infection symptoms, such as a cough, should call their healthcare provider’s office before arriving at our facilities or scheduling an appointment to determine the appropriate care setting and testing process.
