Following another gut wrenching loss against Pleasant Hill on Friday, Feb. 4. The Creswell boys basketball team didn’t have any time to wallow as they traveled to Medford to face the second ranked team in the 3A the Cascade Christian Challengers.

The Challengers feature one of the best players in the state Austin Maurer who has garnered national attention from schools around the country.

Despite Creswell scoring the first points of the game, Cascade Christian was able to control the contest most of the way, earning the 57-30 over Creswell.

The Bulldogs struggled to score, being held to a season low 30 total points to 29 percent on FGs and 30 percent on three point shots.

Tyler Whitson was a bright spot for the Bulldogs in the first half, knocking down three three point shots and accounting for nine of the 14 first half points.

The Challengers held a 26-14 lead at the break but broke the game open in the second half.

Maurer’s putback dunk off a teammate's miss in the third quarter seemed to take the wind out of the sails for Creswell as Cascade Christian got their highest lead to nearly 30 at 55-26.

Whitson and AJ Hodge scored the only points in the fourth quarter for the Bulldogs as the home team cruised to the victory 57-30.

Despite the Bulldogs tumultuous trip down south, Creswell still has an opportunity to earn a postseason bid if they can stack some conference wins together in the final stretch.
