Charles Ralph “Chuck” Conklin of Cottage Grove died on April 15, 2017 at the age of 82.  He was born on December 28, 1934 in Ava, Missouri, to parents Ralph and Eva (Stewart) Conklin.  He graduated from high school and college.  He served in the U.S. Navy.  He married Frances Green on August 18, 1957 in Creswell, OR.  Chuck worked for 15 years for Weyerhaeuser, and owned Chuck’s Downtown Barbershop for 57 years.  He enjoyed poker, cards, and especially his grandkids.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances Pauline Conklin of Cottage Grove; son, Ralph  (wife Lori) Conklin of Cottage Grove; son, Richard (wife Brenda) Conklin of Cottage Grove; grandkids, Mike, Jeff, Heather, April, Matt and Kori; and 6 great-grandkids.  No service is planned.  Arrangements are in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove.
