Clay Wesley Thornburgh passed away on July 22, 2023.

Clay Thornburgh, age 58, loving son and brother, formerly of Cottage Grove, passed away on July 22.  His unexpected passing was due to a heart attack.

Clay was born in Medford, OR, on December 23, 1964, to Mavis (Couser) Giraud, and Marvin Thornburgh.  He most recently resided in Las Vegas, NV.

Clay was an accomplished brick mason, and was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers.  He also worked with landscaping.

He loved playing cribbage and games with his dad.

Clay had a special love for his mom’s dog Mitzi.  They played together and walked together. 

His interests include hunting, fishing, golf, and especially spending time with his family.  Clay loved building things for his mother and father and family.  Clay was a believer in God.  He was always ready to help anyone who needed help.

Clay is survived by his parents -- Mavis Giraud of Cottage Grove, and Marvin Thornburgh of Las Vegas. Clay is also survived by his loving fiancée Teresa Ledford.  He is preceded in death by his beloved stepfather, Jean Giraud.

He is also survived by his son, Cameron Maxon (Emily), of Texas;  siblings Tracy Silva (John), of Cottage Grove;  Tarva Lee, of Las Vegas;  Paul Twaddle (Barbara) of Reno, NV.

Clay had one granddaughter and one grandson on the way, and is survived by 22 nieces and nephews.

Arrangements and inurnment in care of Andreason’s Cremation and Burial Service. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
