Cottage Grove — Clinton Matthew Lancaster IV (Matt), 24, of Cottage Grove OR passed away on January 14th, 2023. Matt was born on December 25th, 1998 in Kansas City, MO to parents Clinton M. Lancaster III and Tara (Newton) Lancaster. From a young age Matt loved playing sports. He played baseball, basketball, football, and later enjoyed pickle ball, boating, snow-boarding, crabbing, and golf with his brother Alex. He also loved to cook and be in the kitchen dreaming up new and creative menus. He earned his Associates Degree in Business Management from Missouri Western State University. He relocated to Oregon and began working as an entrepreneur in the crypto market and as the vice president of Incline Marketing alongside his brother, Alex. He was a big gamer and enjoyed coding. Matt had aspirations to move forward in the field of cyber security while bartending on the side. Matt also loved working on his Daytona Blue Nissan 350Z and driving it around town. That was his baby, along with his dog, Loki. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed shooting targets both on the farm and at the shooting range with his brother. More than anything, Matt loved his family. He loved his special friend group in Kansas City and spending time working on the Newton farm with his uncles, brother, and grandparents. He and his family were on a constant adventure and had innumerable trips traveling together. Matt was a kind and loving son, a brother that would listen and give a voice of reason, a fun uncle, and the best friend a person could have. He was loyal. He had a kind and gentle way about him and a smile that will not be forgotten. Matt is survived by his parents Clinton M. Lancaster III of Forest Hill MD, and Tara (Newton) Lancaster of Cottage Grove OR, sister Chrissy Lavigne of Grain Valley MO, brother Alex Lancaster of Eugene OR, grand-parents Dee and Joyce Newton of Rushville MO, grandparents Clinton M. II and Jane Lancaster of Marietta GA, grandmother Barbara Harris of Caldwell ID, many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins and his dog child - Loki Lancaster of Cottage Grove OR. Matt was preceded in death by his cousin, Chandler Dale Newton. Matt loved Chandler, and vowed to never forget the angel that got his wings too soon. A church memorial will be held on February 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM, CST at Grace & Holy Trinity Cathedral in Kansas City MO.
