Cottage Grove baseball looks for funding from community

In an effort to get up-to-date catchers gear and new bats, the Cottage Grove baseball team is looking to receive money from the community.

In a post on the website, a fundraising website that is focused on schools, head baseball coach Dan Geiszler created a page for the team in an effort to raise $797 for the team to get a new Under Armour catcher’s gear and an Easton bat.

“The students athletes in our program are hardworking, dedicated individuals and teammates that are wanting to play and compete at the highest level possible. Our community has a high percentage of students who fall under the poverty line, making it difficult to provide essential equipment necessary to compete,” Geiszler wrote on the post.

Four donors have currently given a total of $284 to the project so far.
