Cindy Weeldryer, Mike Fleck, Christy Inskip and Gary Williams will continue on to the next round of interviews to replace former commissioner Faye Stewart.
The commission chose nine out of 27 applicants that interviewed this morning to move on. They include: Heather Buck, Tim Laue, Betsy Shultz, Jennifer Flint and Cedric Hayden.
Commissioners will reportedly ask the nine finalists three questions ranging from what they think the role of a commissioner is to what their principles of decision making are. A fourth, "secret" question will be asked of three finalists before a decision is made.
According to an email statement from the county an applicant must receive a minimum of three votes from the commissioners to be appointed to the seat.
"The Board of County Commissioners may recess for the evening and resume the process on Thursday morning if it is unable to come to a decision in a timely manner on Wednesday evening," the statement said.
