Creswell Girls take control late against Billies

The Creswell girls basketball team is starting to stack together wins. After knocking off Santiam Christian at home the Bulldogs started their week with a shellacking of La Pine 49-15 followed by another victory against Pleasant Hill 53-44.

As of The Sentinel’s press time Creswell sits tied atop the Mountain Valley Conference with Harrisburg at 4-1. 

Three Bulldogs touched double digit points led by Emme Whitson with 15 while Emma Maness had 11 and Samairah Quinones added 10. 

Despite 18 turnovers in the first half Creswell still held a lead over a frisky Pleasant Hill team 24-20. The Bulldogs got their turnovers under control in the second half only surrendering eight in the third and fourth quarter. 

Creswell started to pull away in the second half as the team racked up 20 steals on the night and came away with the victory 53-44. 

The girls will be back in action for their final home game of the regular season on senior night against Harrisburg at 6 p.m. on Feb. 11.
