Creswell plans OR-99 Front Street closure, detours Oct. 7-11
Front Street will receive much needed roadwork near an on the Railroad track.
September 22 - Detour routes have been posted on the City of Creswell’s website for upcoming Front Street improvements on OR-99. The project will be making improvements this fall to the railroad crossing area, which is damaged and will be replaced, making it safer for all in one of the city’s busiest areas.
Creswell’s project notice stated, “CORP Railroad is replacing the siding and mainline tracks across the highway with concrete panels to provide a smoother crossing for vehicles. And ODOT will improve pedestrian crossing on the south to provide a wider and level pedestrian path. Truncated domes will be installed on either side of the tracks and one sidewalk curb ramp will be improved.”
Construction impacts should be expected such as shoulder lane closures, delays, and relative construction noise. Detours and alternate routes will be marked during full road closures. The project to complete the railroad work is expected to take four or five days.
To access OR-99 north on the closure, use I-5 and take exit 182. To access OR-99 south of the closure, use I-5 and take exit 176. Local streets are for local access and passenger cars. Truck traffic will need to use the signed detour Oct. 7 through 11.
