December 29 - Community Sharing Program hosted its annual Holiday Food Box giveaway on December 20th at the pantry. Over a dozen volunteers including service club members from the Cottage Grove Lions Club helped needy families load up their vehicles throughout the day.

Single sized families to families of six or more were able to sign up to receive a food box with ingredients for holiday traditional American and Latine meals. Community Sharing is a 501(c)(3) public charity and agency which relies on private donations, grants, and government contracts to fund its services. 

Executive Director Mike Fleck said, "The Holiday Food Box distribution went very well. 260 households signed up for a holiday box and the distribution went off without a hitch. This was the 2nd year we gave out the boxes at Community Sharing's pantry and it seems to work well."
