Drain Oktoberfest, a purrfect way to celebrate the fall season

October 20 - North Douglas County broke out those lederhosen and dusted off the knee socks for the Drain Oktoberfest on Sunday, Oct. 16. The event was sponsored by the Drain Chamber of Commerce, Lindsey and Mauricio Dowell, Vagos Motorcycle Club, Jacks Barber Shoppe, Ratman Pest Control and the City of Drain. Many other volunteers also helped set up, clean up and more. The majority of the events were held at the pavilion directly behind the Drain Civic Center at 205 West A Avenue. There was pumpkin carving and judging, tractor rides, Trebuchet pumpkin hurling, live music, a costume contest, tasty treats, beer garden, vendors and, allegedly, the world's biggest cat — a giant plywood feline that was illuminated with lasers and a fire dancer.
