Elaine Celia Weimer

Elaine Celia Weimer, 77 of Cottage Grove, OR passed away on June 4, 2019 from complications due to Parkinson’s Disease. Elaine was born on August 15, 1941 in Bakersfield, CA to parents Thomas and Thelma (Johnson) Springer. Elaine graduated from high school in 1960 and married her husband Claude the same week. They continued living in Bakersfield, CA for three years. They then moved to Santa Maria, CA where they lived until retirement. After retiring, they moved to North Fork, CA where they enjoyed the country life. In 2006, they moved to Cottage Grove, OR. Elaine and Claude were married for nearly 50 years.
Elaine was a home maker for many years. Later, she was employed at Sears and worked in the children’s department for 25 years. She enjoyed being a Brownie Troop Leader and home room mom. Elaine had many interests including, crafting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, reading, and bingo. She also collected Pillsbury Dough Boy items, Winnie the Pooh, daffodil figurines, and anything spider.
She is preceded in death by her sister Janet Madeira and husband Claude. She is survived by her daughters Celia Gowing (Jeff) of Cottage Grove, OR and Eileen Bowie (Stephen) of Bisbee, AZ; grandson Ryan Bowie; step-grandchildren Tiffany Cornilsen (Nick), Vince Gowing (Kendra), Elizabeth Ehrich (Nick); 4 great grandchildren; brother Lloyd Springer of Montana, nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.
