Elkton earns fourth win in a row

Elkton and Gilchrist saw 10 lead changes in their hard-fought game that saw the Elks come out on top 41-38 on Saturday.

Elkton was down 31-28 at the half, but the offense in the second half proved to be too much for Gilchrist as the Elks earned the come from behind win.

“It was a great game. I mean they (Gilchrist) didn’t play like a 1-4 team,” said Elkton Coach Jeremy Lockhart. “They played just as good as us or better than us at times. That’s for sure they came out firing right away and it was a back-and-forth game.”

Next week Elkton gets to continue their season in a modified version of 6-man football playoffs as they host Jewell next Friday Oct. 22 at 3 p.m.
