On Wednesday, September 25^th, 2019 Fran Boehner, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 91.

Fran was born on October 22^nd, 1927 in Oakland, California to Arthur and Alta (Thomas) Lobingier.  She received her BA in English, and also a Masters in Education.  She raised three children with her first husband, John Bassett, and later on they divorced.  She married Paul Boehner in 1979, and they lived in Cottage Grove until her passing.

Fran had a passion for education, and she was very active socially and politically; she was always championing the underdog and doing everything in her power to help those less fortunate than her. She was a long-time member of the League of Women Voters and devoted many years of her life to encouraging women and minorities to register, and to vote.

She was wife, mother, grandmother, friend, educator, activist, philanthropist, and mentor, and she will be greatly missed.   She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Paul, her three children, Lyn, Jagat Joti, and Nancy, and her two grandchildren, Vanessa and Gabriel.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5^th at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Home, 123 S. 7^th Street, Cottage Grove, Oregon at 2:30 p.m.Arrangements in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.
