George McKown, 71, of Drain Oregon, died unexpectedly on July 12, 2020 at a Portland Hospital, of complications of a medical procedure and underlying health conditions.
George is survived by Travis McKown, Shannon Koehler, ex-wife of 16 years- Diana Fish, 5 grandkids, 6 great grandkids and dear friend Jessica Kisling, all of Oregon; and his mother Myra Brandt, sister Shannon Rowson, 1 nephew and 3 nieces in California, Virginia, Georgia and Colorado. George was predeceased in death by his father, Wayne McKown, stepfather Loren Brandt, and two brothers Terry and Kevin Brandt.
A Memorial service will be held August 2nd at 1 PM at Gateway Family Fellowship Church of the Nazarene located at 337 C Avenue, Drain, Oregon. A mask must be worn for those in attendance. You can also participate via the church’s Facebook page.
There will be a private graveside service at a time TBD in Springfield, Or.
George was very active as a volunteer preparing and distributing meals to the community, with Meals on Wheels and also the Living Hope Outreach Program at Gateway Family Fellowship Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers it would honor George if you wanted to donate to either of those programs.
