Grant awarded to digitize local newspapers

COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – Extra Extra, read all about it!
The Cottage Grove “Partners In History” groups have received grant funding to further their efforts to digitize the local newspapers. Thanks to the Woodard Foundation the group will be able to digitize another 14,000 pages. This generous grant will add almost 30 years to the availability of our local newspaper, the Cottage Grove Sentinel, to be read online.
The Cottage Grove Community Foundation also awarded a grant for this project and the Partners In History collectively thanks them for their continued support of the project. This is a wonderful gift to researchers, students and the curious.
If anyone would like to learn more about the Oregon Historic Newspaper Project or how to effectively use the website https://oregonnews.uoregon.edu contact the Cottage Grove Genealogical Society, [email protected]. One on one help is available Wednesday through Friday 1-4 p.m. or by appointment.
