Harold Ira “Chip” Chiappetta of Cottage Grove passed away May 25, 2019 of age related causes.

Harold was born to James and Judith Chiappetta in Honolulu, HI on December 18, 1929.

Harold graduated from H.R. Farrington High School and in October of 1974 he married Mary Ann Reimche in Reno, NV.

Harold served in the Army and Marine Reserves from 1952-1958 and earned the National Defense Service Medal.

Harold worked as a machinist and enjoyed gardening, carpentry, coin & stamp collecting and volunteering at Community Sharing. Harold was award Volunteer of the year from Community Sharing.

Harold is survived by his Son; Joshua Chiappetta of Cottage Grove, OR; Daughters Valerie Bauman of Dorena, OR, Juana Chiappetta of Los Banos, CA and Sylvia Libby of Gold Beach, OR; Brothers George Chiappetta and Patrick Eskildsen, Sisters Eleanor Ward and Dorothy String Fellow; 14 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Chiappetta; Brothers Charles Chiappetta and Walter Chiappetta; Sisters Irene Kapoi and Mildred Fowers.

A Celebration of Life will be held June 22, 2019 from 1-3pm at 1760 W. Harrison, Cottage Grove, OR.
