In need of a facelift

The Buster Keaton Mural Restoration Project, an effort sponsored by the Cottage Grove Historical Society, has launched a raffle this month to help fund the restoration of the iconic mural at the gateway to Cottage Grove’s downtown.

A complete repainting of the wall will address peeling issues (right) and alter Keaton’s face and hands to more closely replicate a photo from the film “The General,” upon which the mural is based.

A list of businesses selling raffle tickets will be distributed in posters coming out this week.
