On Sunday, April 23, the community is invited to Observe the Sun Day at the Paul Morgan Observatory on the campus of Umpqua Community College (UCC) from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Admission is free. Guests will view live images of the sun on television monitors inside the observatory. If visibility is limited videos will be shown. 

Children and adults can learn more about the earth’s blazing buddy, the sun. Everyone attending will get bookmarks of the Spitzer Space Telescope from NASA. Children will receive booklets and stickers from NASA’s Space Place. Observe the Sun Day is promoted by Astronomers without Borders as part of Global Astronomy Month 2017.
