Karrie A. Kishen of Cottage Grove died on February 3, 2018 of cancer. She was 72.
Karrie was born on March 2, 1945 in Kansas City, MO to parents Skip and Belle (Reese) Hutsell. She attended California Baptist College, and earned her MRS. Degree there, marrying
R. Eugene Kishen on June 4, 1965 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Seattle, WA. Karrie
worked at Boeing as a secretary. She was a pastor’s wife and mother of 3 children, serving at Calvary Baptist church in Cottage Grove from 1978-1994. From 2013-2017 she was the
piano player at Dexter Baptist Church. Karrie also was Executive Secretary for her husband’s business, Progressive Exteriors Inc. She taught women’s ministries in various churches. Karrie enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking, and quilting. She had made a total of 71 quilts. But the joy of her life was her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Eugene, of Cottage Grove; daughter, Kristel Voigt of Cottage Grove; son, Raymond E. Kishen of Sun Valley, AZ; son, Kyle (April) Kishen of Cottage Grove; sister, Diane Lyman of Auburn, WA; brother, Ed Hutsell of
Milford, OH; sister, Trudy Dickson of Cottage Grove; and 7 grandchildren. A Celebration of
Life will be held at Calvary Chapel in Cottage Grove on Saturday, February 24, at 11:00 AM.
