LCPH offering free COVID-19 testing to rural communities

Free testing will be held in Cottage Grove next month

In order to better understand how COVID-19 is moving through the county’s rural communities and provide a low-barrier testing option, Lane County Public will he conducting testing events in four rural communities over the next month, including Cottage Grove.

Testing will be open to all community members, but priority will be given to individuals in high-risk groups, first responders, individuals who have not been able to maintain physical distancing throughout the outbreak (having had to work, etc.), and individuals who are symptomatic.

All test results and personal medical information is confidential and will not be shared.

If an individual tests positive, they will be contacted by a Lane County Public Health with the contact information they share.

Testing is free and does not require insurance, but community members are encouraged to bring insurance information if they have insurance.

Free testing in Cottage Grove will be held Thursday, July 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Health Hub (parking lot), 1133 E. Main St.
