Leo Kenneth Hart II, 69 of Drain Oregon passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family in Springfield, OR on Feb. 19, 2018 from an abdominal aortic aneurysm. He had just spent a weekend retreat at a lake house with his family. Leo was born on April 3, 1948 in Roseburg OR to Leo and Dolores (Kelly) Hart. He graduated from Cottage Grove High School. Immediately after high school he joined the Air Force and was recognized for Air Force Outstanding Unit and Small Arms Expert Marksman. He completed Supply Service Specialist and Survival Instructor training, and then spent time as a survival instructor and fought in Vietnam. Leo was proud to be a veteran and to have served his country. He attended OSU, and ultimately went to work at Weyerhaeuser. He married Mari Hague in November of 1972. Leo worked for Weyerhaeuser for 41 years retiring in 2014. He and Mari celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in November 2017. He was a lover of music and an adventurer who liked camping and fishing. He enjoyed working with kids, was a soccer coach at CG High School, Boy Scout Leader and camp counselor at Camp Baker on the coast. Leo is survived by his wife Mari, his two sons, Kirk and Jeremy who continue to live in Oregon, and sister Jeannie, aka. Nancy, who currently resides in Alaska. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 24 2018 at the Masonic Lodge, 33322 Row River Rd. Cottage Grove, OR 97424
