COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. - The Cottage Grove Lions football team hosted their home opener against the Elmira Falcons last Friday, losing 51-18. The Lions stayed competitive early in the game with a 55-yard touchdown run by junior quarterback Gavin Grogan, but the Falcons built a four score lead at halftime in front of the Lions faithful.

Cottage Grove returns home tonight, Friday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m., where they hope to earn a win over the Philomath Warriors, who are 1-1 coming into their match-up with the Lions. The game is part of a three game homestand for Cottage Grove, who also host Sweet Home next Friday night.
