Lorane News — for March 20, 2019


• Two Lorane Fire Board positions are open. Anyone interested must file by March 21.
• CAL School Board meets this Thursday, March 21 in the Applegate board room at 7 pm. 
• School is a half-day this Friday, March 22, for the beginning of Spring break (March 25 through 29.) School resumes Monday, April 1 (April Fool’s Day).  
• Come to Lorane Grange this Saturday, March 23, and enjoy some fun and a delicious spaghetti dinner, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Bingo starting at 6:30 p.m.  There will be lots of bingo prizes, a 50/50 raffle and the progressive blackout amount is over $150. Due to Easter towards the end of April, this will be the last dinner and bingo until next fall.
• Lorane Grange meets on Thursday, April 4, at 7 p.m. The Grange is currently collecting new socks and underwear for men and women veterans, to be handed out at the Stand Down later this year. If you’d like to donate, bring new socks and/or underwear to any of the days mentioned and put them in the barrel in the entryway — or call Lil at 541-942-5701.
• The RAC/ Lorane Grange Talent Show is scheduled for Sunday, April 7, at 3 p.m. Call  Barbara Dare at 541-942-7911 or Lil at 541-942-5701 to get on the list. If you are entertaining, be there by 2:45 p.m. Last-minute entertainers are welcome. Anyone having stationary artwork (woodwork, art work, jewelry, glassware, knit work, etc.) should come to the Grange by 2:30 p.m. to set up in the kitchen area. Remember: it’s free, so come enjoy an afternoon of amazing talent! Also, finger food snacks will be in the kitchen.
• Valedictorian for 2019 at Crow High School is Kody Roberts with a 4.23 GPA, and Eli Matthews is Salutatorian with a 4.18 GPA. Congratulations to both!
• The Reading Ninjas, Kieran, Kyla, Kiera, and Jezi, will represent Applegate Elementary in the Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) regional competition. Congratulations!
