Maryn I. Gary of Cottage Grove died on June 28, 2019 of complications from a stroke.

She was born March 1, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN to Frederick P. and Emma (Hoff) Roessel. She graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1956 and attended the University of Minnesota for two years earning an AA degree. She married James. F. Manning who was in the military and they were soon stationed in Orlean, France. She settled in Novato, CA, where she then met her present husband, Ed Gary in 1975.

Maryn enjoyed being a watercolor artist, traveling, golf and playing bridge.

Maryn is survived by her husband Ed, James Manning of Eugene, daughter; Lisa Gray (Jacob) of Cottage Grove, brother; Fred Rossel of Roanoke, VA, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In Lieu of flowers make a donation to the Cottage Grove High School Art Department.

A memorial service for Mary on July 20, 2019 at 2PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Cottage Grove, at the comer of Third and Adams. On August 10, 2019 we will have a celebration of life in Petaluma, CA with her family and friends.
