A weekly drive-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic in the Bohemia Park parking lot launched its first distribution event on Friday (March 19), targeting residents 65 or older.
The vaccine clinic will be available every Friday from 10 a.m. to noon until further notice.
“We are really, really wanting people in the community to let those that are in that upper age bracket know that this is an option and an opportunity for them,” said City Manager Richard Meyers.
McCoy's Pharmacy has partnered with the City of Cottage Grove to help make sure members of the community get every opportunity to receive the vaccine.
The drive-up clinic is operating in addition to the vaccine availability at several local pharmacies.
The number of doses will be limited, so pre-registration is strongly recommended.
To register, contact Teresa Cowan or Jessica Klarr at the Community Center at 541-942-1185.
Those receiving a vaccine should bring an insurance or Medicare card to the drive-up clinic.
The ongoing clinics will not be restricted to seniors, however, and Cottage Grove residents are urged to watch for announcements on what ages will be accepted at the future clinics.
For seniors with transportation barriers, McCoy’s Pharmacy has offered to make at-home deliveries.
“So please spread the word,” said Meyers. “Let the seniors know if they are unable to come, we will go to them.”
