Senior and Disability Services, a division of the Lane Council of Governments, is continuing to operate Café 60 dining locations and Meals on Wheels routes across Lane County in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Operations have been amended to ensure precautions that prioritize the safety of meal recipients, staff and volunteers are at the frontlines of these efforts.
All Meals on Wheels routes are continuing to operate with volunteers, who will have no direct contact with meal recipients in order to minimize health risks for all parties. These health risks are being alleviated by a “knock and drop” approach that allows volunteers to make deliveries and also check on consumers while maintaining appropriate “social distancing” measures. Café 60 dining locations are providing meals to-go only and maintaining a regular lunch operation schedule in most locations.
For more information about Meals on Wheels or picking up meals to go at a Café 60 dining location, call the Aging and Disability Resource Connection at 541-682-3353 during business hours. Any resident 60 years or older may pick up food to go at a Café 60 location, regardless of income.
