Multi-family fire breaks out in Creswell

Disaster responders with the American Red Cross Cascades Region responded at approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, in the 200 block of S. Mill Street in Creswell. 

A fire broke out at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday with flames continuing to reignite for more than two hours. Goshen, Pleasant Hill and North Douglas responded to the blaze alongside South Lane County Fire and Rescue. 

Approximately 20 people were evacuated from second story apartments in the building. 

According to the Red Cross, it provided services for 14 adults and one child at the scene. The Red Cross provided resources to help address the immediate basic needs of those affected such as temporary housing, food, clothing, comfort kits, information about recovery services, and health and mental health services.

The fire is currently under investigation.
