The University of Oregon’s international conference “Musicking: Cultural Considerations” encompassed the music of the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras.
Organized annually by graduate students of the University of Oregon, the conference is unique in the Pacific Northwest. This year, for the second time, the conference came to Cottage Grove for a concert at First Presbyterian Church last Sunday.
The Musicking Conference Oratorio Orchestra presented excerpts from G.A. Perti’s “La Beata Imelde” and Q. Colombani’s “Il martirio di S. Cecilia,” conducted by Professor of Musicology Marc Vanscheeuwijck. The event was open to the public and offered free of charge.
