The North Douglas Warriors completed their pursuit of perfection last Saturday, achieving a 14-0 record in league play and sweeping their two opponents in the Skyline Conference tournament.
“We had a really good day Saturday. That was some of the best volleyball we played all season,” said Warrior Head Coach Emily Reed. “We had talked all week about controlling our destiny and making our path easier and so the girls just came ready to play and they played really well.”
The Warriors dominated their conference the whole season only dropping two sets to their opponents all year. Their supremacy continued when they faced rival Days Creek and crushed them 25-15, 25-15, 25-14 earning a 3-0 sweep. Then later overpowering Umpqua Valley Christian 25-13, 25-16, 25-15 for another 3-0 victory in the conference championship.
“The passing was fantastic. We worked all week on our defense and covering our hitters,” said Reed. “It was really impressive you could tell we had worked on it because I think that was the best defense we had played in both games.”
North Douglas will be hosting a playoff game next week Oct. 30 with the opponent and time still to be determined as of The Sentinels press time.
