October 6 - Flu season is here. PeaceHealth Cottage Grove Community Medical Center echoes the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation that everyone age six months and older get a yearly flu vaccine.
“We’re recommending getting the flu shot as soon as possible,” said Thea Petersen, MD, a family physician with PeaceHealth Medical Group at Cottage Grove Community Medical Center.
“Remember, getting the flu shot not only helps protect you, but everyone in our community, especially children, older adults and pregnant women.”
PeaceHealth is offering two upcoming walk-in flu-shot clinics in Suite 100 at Cottage Grove Community Medical Center, 1515 Village Drive. No appointment is necessary.
Or call 541-767-5200 to make an appointment for other times.
Those who are not PeaceHealth patients may register as a patient to have their insurance billed for the vaccination. Those who don’t have insurance, or who choose not to have their insurance billed, may receive the shot for $25.
“In addition to getting your flu shot, please continue the practices that can prevent the spread of flu and of COVID-19,” Petersen said. “Thoroughly wash your hands throughout the day, and stay home from work or school if you are sick.”
