Robert Bruce McGill, 81, passed away June 21, 2022. Robert was born on July 17, 1940, in Medford, Oregon to Howard and Helen McGill.

As a native Oregonian, his active childhood was spent mostly between Klamath Falls and Medford. As a rambunctious teen, Robert entered into the Marines at the age of 17 and was honorably discharged to return to Oregon.

He went on to pursue a college degree in anthropology at the University of Oregon. Upon graduating, he worked in the lumber industry as a millwright in nearly every mill within the Willamette Valley.

It was in Eugene, Oregon where he met his wife, Lorna Jean Brush. Lorna and Robert were married until her passing in 2002. The vast majority of his life was spent in Cottage Grove, Oregon where he lived until his passing.

Robert was a devoted father, avid reader, frequent attendee of the symphony, BMW car enthusiast, and all-around scholar of life. He is survived by his two sons, Richard and Nicholas McGill. There may be a celebration of his long well-lived life at a later date.
