Robert Lee Ikola

Robert Lee Ikola, 67, of Sweet Home passed away Thursday. He was born in Cottage Grove to John and Lila (Brandt) Ikola.

He was born and raised in Cottage Grove. He moved to Sweet Home in 1977.

Bob worked for Franny’s Furniture in Sweet Home before going into business with his brother Richard to open Sweet Home Motors. After 30 years he retired from Sweet Home Motors. He is known to many as Broadway Bob.

He saw beauty and created art from anything and everything. Gold glitter was his favorite. He “Bob-ized” everything. He loved to get in the car with no direction, just to see where the road took him. He could often be found at a speedway or the movies on the weekend. He loved having family time.

Special Thanks to Robin Adams for keeping him on track, and to our church family at riverside Christian for all the love and support.

Bob is survived by his wife Lona (Amundson) Ikola; daughters: Misty McCormick, Katelynn Ikola; granddaughter Kennedy Robinson; siblings: Helen Hull, Eleanor (Robert) Saltsgaver; many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly; brother-in-laws: Gary and his wife Tammy Amundson, Herb Roth; sister-in-law Leesa and her husband Dave Adams.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Anna Trader, Raymond Ikola, Richard Ikola, and his parents.

Memorial service will be 2:00 pm Friday July 5th at Riverside Christian Church in Sweet Home. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Sweet Home Emergency Ministries at 1115 Long Street, Sweet Home, Oregon 97386.
