Several Lane County services closed due to snow

Conditions continue to be treacherous on roads throughout Lane County this morning. Residents should stay off the road and refrain from traveling if at all possible.

Lane County has 20 snowplows active from the Coast Range to Oakridge and crews working around the clock to help keep critical routes passable. Crews are also working to remove downed trees and branches from roadways. Crews are attempting to reach the McKenzie area, but downed power lines and trees on Highway 126 are currently blocking access. We will continue to work on accessing the area.

Crews have encountered downed power lines across the county. As a reminder, downed lines may be energized and are extremely dangerous. Stay away from downed lines and lines that are touching any other object (trees, fences, buildings).

Several Lane County services are closed today due to the weather, including:

Assessment and Taxation: Closed to the public today.

Behavioral Health: Primacy Care closed today.

Board of Property Tax Appeals: All hearings scheduled before the Board of Property Tax Appeals are cancelled today, February 25, due to weather. Hearings will be rescheduled.

Community Health Centers of Lane County: Services consolidated to Brookside (1680 Chambers) and Delta Oaks (1022 Green Acres). All other locations are closed today. Customer service lines are unavailable due to staff shortages. We are working to notify appointment holders.

Service closures will continue to be updated at www.lanecounty.org and on Twitter at www.twitter.com/LaneCountyGov. Reports of phone outages, land lines and cell phones, in several areas are a good reminder to use radio to stay up-to-date on critical information if other sources aren’t available.
