Teens arrested for Banner Bank break-in

Cottage Grove Police say there is no threat to the community after two juveniles broke into Banner Bank on Gateway Blvd. Tuesday night.

The boys, who authorities did not identify due to their age, reportedly broke a window to enter the building around 8 p.m. Officers, already in the area, responded to the scene and witnessed the two teens inside the bank.

“The juveniles complied with the officers’ orders to exit the bank and were taken into custody without further incident,” a statement on the incident read.

Cottage Grove Police Chief Scott Shepherd reported that the teens caused approximately $1,500 in damage but did not steal anything.

They have been charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
