  • Cottage Grove Sentinel office must be unlocked and open for business at 8:30 a.m. promptly every morning.
  • Close the Cottage Grove Sentinel office at 5:00 p.m. promptly.
  • Dress code is professional.
  • Arrive prepared to work.
  • Checking in and then leaving to get breakfast or lunch or to handle other personal business is unacceptable.
  • Represent the Cottage Grove Sentinel with a professional and courteous attitude. Delivering outstanding customer service is required.
  • Someone must be at the front desk workstation at all times.
  • When you need to leave for break, lunch break, or to pick up mail, inform another staff member so that he/she may cover the desk in your absence.
  • Be prompt about returning to your workstation immediately upon completion of mail/delivery runs and breaks.
  • Limit personal phone calls to only necessary brief calls. You may hold personal calls on your break or lunch break away from the front desk.
  • No cell phones, earplugs, text messaging, Internet surfing, or instant messaging allowed.
  • No eating at the front desk. Take your rest and meal breaks away from the desk.

Specific Responsibilities

Reception

  • Answer phones and greet customers with kindness and professionalism
  • Go to the post office at 9:00am daily
  • Take classifieds, submissions for Obituaries, Legals, birth, wedding and anniversary announcements
  • Gather outgoing mail and apply postage
  • Complete daily cash report and send to Corporate Office and General Manager/Publisher
  • Make daily deposit no later than noon and fax the receipt to Corporate Office
  • All other duties as assigned

Circulation

  • Mailer circulation on Wednesday
  • Gather inserts and copies of Mailer papers once printed and complete paperwork for post office
  • Friday morning complete runner list for Wednesday paper
  • Circulation: gather all payments, changes, etc. and send to Florence for posting into Interlink
  • Give drivers their paperwork
  • Enter rack/dealer returns on a weekly basis as to not pile up excessively
  • Monthly subscription renewals need to be sent by the second Friday of each month.
  • Monthly Dealer bills need to be sent no later than 2 days after the first publication date of the month (when returns are in). On the 20th of each month, send out another notice to people who expire in that month.

Legals

  • Respond in a timely manner to submissions for the posting of legal notice(s)
  • Track all legal notices in the legals log book
  • Complete and send an affidavit for each legal that has completed it’s requested number of placements
  • Check outside publications weekly to seek out additional legal notice opportunities.

  • NOTICE OF SALE

    The name of the Grantors are ALBERT LOHR and ROXANNE PULSE and DAVID LOHR.  The name of the successor Trustee under the Trust Deed is JAMES A. HENDERSHOTT. The name of the Beneficiaries are VERNON HUBER and CAROL HUBER.  The common address for the property is 47635 School Street, Oakridge, Oregon 97463. The legal description of the property which is located in Lane County, Oregon, is: “Beginning at a point on the line running East and West through the center of Section 17, Township 21 South Range 3 East of the Willamette Meridian, said point being 288 feet North 89 40' East from a certain concrete monument, which monument is North 89 40' East 1489.3 feet from the quarter corner on the West line of said Section 17; from said beginning point run thence North 89 40' East 56 feet; thence North 149.7 feet, thence North 83 13' West 56.44 feet to a point due North of the point of beginning, thence South to the point of beginning, being part of said Section 17, in Lane County, Oregon.”  The Trust Deed is recorded in the mortgage records at Lane County Deeds and Records, Lane County Courthouse, Lane County, Oregon, as document No. 2017-033605.  The default for which foreclosure is made consists of the failure of Grantors to pay real property taxes levied on the above described real property for tax years 2017 through 2018 in the amount of $329.24 plus interest; and the failure of Grantors to make monthly payments of $500 permonth in principal and interest and the $6.00 monthly escrow collection fee for the months of May, June, July, August and September of 2018.  The total sum owing on the obligation secured by the Trust Deed as of October 5, 2018 is $26,669.97.  The Beneficiaries  elect to sell the premises to satisfy the obligations owed, together with interest owed beyond October 5, 2018, together with title expenses, costs, trustee’s fee and attorney’s fees incurred herein by reason of said default; any further sums advanced by the beneficiary for the protection of the above described property and its interest therein; and any other accruing late charges and expenses.  The property will be sold to satisfy the obligations.  Wherefore, notice is hereby given that the undersigned trustee will on February 25, 2019, at 9:01 a.m. (Oregon Pacific Standard time as established by ORS 187.110) outside Room 400 (the main entrance door to the Lane County District Attorney offices) at the top of the main stairs (on the fourth floor) of the Lane County Courthouse, located at 125 E. 8th Ave., in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, sell at public auction to the highest bidder for each the interest in the real property described above, which the grantor had, or had power to convey at the time of execution by grantor of the trust deed together with any interest which the grantor or grantor’s successor in interest acquired after the execution of the trust deed, to satisfy the foregoing obligations thereby secured and the costs and expenses of the sale, including reasonable charges by the trustee.  NOTICE is further given that any person named in ORS 86.778 has the right, at any time that is not later than five days before the date last set for the sale, to have this foreclosure proceeding dismissed and the trust deed reinstated by paying to the beneficiary the entire amount then due, (other than such portion of the principle as would not then be due had no default occurred) and by curing any other default complained of herein that is capable of being cured by tendering the performance required under the obligation or trust deed, and in addition to paying those sums or tendering the performance necessary to cure the default, by paying all costs and expenses actually incurred in enforcing the obligation and trust deed, together with trustee and attorney fees not exceeding the amounts provided by ORS 86.778.  Without limiting the trustee’s disclaimer of representations or warranties, the Trustee states “some residential property sold at a trustee’s sale may have been used in manufacturing methamphetamines, the chemical components of which are known to be toxic.  Prospective purchasers of residential property should be aware of this potential danger before deciding to place a bid for this property at the trustee’s sale.”  James A.
